  Peter Gaess    

Peter Gaess

Chorus Member, Tenor

Peter sings in the Rochester Oratorio Society and is a member of Resonanz, the "choir for hire" within the ROS. His first tenure with the group was nearly 30 years ago, when he sang under the Oratorio Society's first Music Director, Maestro Ted Hollenbeck. He also served on the ROS Board of Directors during that time. He resumed singing with ROS six years ago. Peter is retired from a career in financial management.

John is the owner and operator of the Bird House, a nature and garden store in Pittsford. John retired in 2007after 25 years as Managing Director at Nixon Peabody. He previously was Controller and Regional General Manager at Mobil Chemical Company. John has been an ROS community board member for three years. He graduated from the University of Detroit with a BS in Accounting and MBA Finance. He and his wife, Sue, have 6 children and 15 grandchildren.

Maryellen joined the Rochester Oratorio Society in 2000. She has a Degree in Music Education from Nazareth College and taught music in the Brockport Central School District for 31 years. She conducts the Hochstein Youth Singers (grades 3-12), Hochstein Singers (grades 7-12), and Hochstein (Adult) Chorale, and directs the "Sweden Senior Singers", in Brockport. She is an Adjunct Professor in the Education Department at Nazareth College of Rochester. Maryellen and her husband, Jay (also a retired Music Teacher) live in Morton, NY and are the proud parents of 2 married sons, Drew and Adam.

Charles is a long-time Rochester Oratorio Society fan, and husband of Gere' Guerin, a twenty year-plus member of ROS. Charles worked for 33 years with Mobil Oil/Chemical in various engineering, marketing and management assignments. Following a five year assignment in Italy Charles and Gere' were relocated to Rochester to manage Mobil's Design Products. After retiring from Mobil, he started GBDcorp to provide technical and management consulting support to small businesses. He now serves as V.P. of Operations for Pulse Marketing Group. Charles is also active as a state certified LTC Ombudsman supporting the residents of Monroe Community Hospital.

 
  Flinn Hackett

Community Member

Flinn's background is in business-to-business marketing, sales, and account management. He is the Director of Corporate Relations at the University of Rochester's Office of Advancement. Before joining the University of Rochester, Flinn worked as Client Service Manager for the law firm Nixon Peabody LLP. Flinn holds a BA in Communication Studies from the State University of New York at Oswego. He lives in Pittsford with his wife, Marisa, and their nine year old son Evan. Flinn and his son are working towards their black belts in Shorin Ryu style karate. He is also an active cyclist and enjoys photography.

 
  Jenny Horn    

Jenny Horn

Jenny joined the Rochester Oratorio Society in 2007. She sings in and manages Resonanz (the "choir for hire" within ROS), is chair of the Membership Committee, and serves on the Artistic Committee. She also serves on the Finger Lakes Choral Festival's Board of Directors. Past board experience includes: San Francisco Choral Society, and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canandaigua. Jenny is a librarian for the Marcus Whitman Central School District. She and husband, Andy Horn (director of the Finger Lakes Choral Festival) have 3 sons. In her spare time she likes to garden, walk, cook, and get friends together for a little singing.

 
  Carole Huther    

Carole Huther

Carole Huther has sung in ROS for nearly 20 years, served as Vice-Chair and Chair, and recently chaired the Conductor Search Committee that brought Eric Townell to Rochester. Carole is active in ROS fundraising events including the Silent and Live Auctions, Art Auction and Dinners at Home. A graduate of Muhlenberg College, she is now retired from careers as Director of an Environmental Education Resource Center, and Director of Volunteer Services for the Episcopal SeniorLife Communities. Carole now works at her favorite store, The Bird House. She also enjoys gardening, kayaking, birdwatching and spending time with family and friends.

 
  Karen Kral    

Karen Kral

Karen is a long-time member of ROS and previously served on the Board of Directors at the time Ted Hollenbeck stepped down as conductor. Her involvement with ROS includes serving as music librarian, assisting with the registrar's group, and participation in the ROS' recent Strategic Planning Committee. She also sings with, and is on the board of directors for the Concentus Women's Choir. Karen is retired from a career in librarianship with Career Development Services, Monroe Community College, and Nazareth College. She is an active volunteer with TechAge, and with the Community Darkroom.

 
  Meghan Lynch    

Meghan Lynch

Community Member

Meghan is an associate at Harter Secrest & Emery LLP. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Greater Rochester Association of Women Attorneys. Meghan has sung with several choirs previously, including most recently the Genesee Valley Orchestra & Choir. Meghan received her B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame. She received her J.D. degree from Boston College Law School.

 
  Daniel McInerney    

Daniel McInerney

First Term, ending 2013
Chorus Member, Tenor

Dan joined the Rochester Oratorio Society in 1994 and has served 4 terms on the Board. He has been the Vice Chairperson, Marketing and Communications Director, and contributed to many other aspects of ROS operations. Dan is also a member of Madrigalia and of Voices. Since 1996 he has served as Madrigalia's Business and Concert Administrator. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Finger Lakes Choral Festival and the Greater Rochester Choral Consortium. Dan works part-time for U.P.S. He enjoys cooking and gardening, and lives with his wife Pam (also an ROS member) and their four children in Irondequoit.

 
  Pati Piper    

Pati Piper

Chorus Member, Soprano

Pati joined the Rochester Oratorio Society after completing her 36-year tenure as Vocal Music Director at Hornell High School. She is a member of Resonanz, the ROS "choir for hire" group. In addition to singing in ROS, she sings in the Eastman Rochester Choir, Chautauqua Choir and the Chautauqua Motet Choir. She and her husband Steve have assisted ROS in many capacities (usher, ticket sales, stage managing, stage set up) and she is ROS's new webmaster. Pati and Steve live in a historic Rochester home on East Avenue with their cats Wolfgang, Anubis and Elijah Roc.

 
  Dennis Rosenbaum    

Dennis Rosenbaum

Chorus Member, Tenor

Dennis Rosenbaum joined the tenor section of ROS in 1989, and has been part of the organization ever since. In his previous tenure on the board, Dennis served as treasurer for seven years. Currently, he serves as chair of the Artistic Committee, working with director Eric Townell to help shape the artistic direction of ROS. Dennis also sings with Mercury Opera, and the Rochester Gay Men's Chorus, as well as serving as tenor section leader at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. His "day job" is as a financial analyst for Genencor.

 
  Dr. Stephen Rosenfeld    

Dr. Stephen Rosenfeld

Community Member

Since retiring as Professor Emeritus in Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology (University of Rochester), Steve is currently serving on the Boards of the CWNY Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, the Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival, the National Council of the U of R School of Medicine, and most recently has joined the Board of the ROS. He received his BA and MD degrees from the University of Rochester and completed postgraduate training at the University of North Carolina, Harvard University, and Boston University. Steve's wife Elise is a long-time ROS singer and past Board Member.

 
  Nana Stotz    

Nana Stotz

First Term ending 2014
Community Member

Nana joins the ROS Board after having worked with the chorus during their performances at the Eastman Theatre/Kodak Hall, as the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's operations manager. She currently works at the Eastman School of Music. Nana comes from a family of musicians, and has studied piano in Quebec, Los Angeles, and England. Her husband, Brian Stotz, is a percussionist in the RPO.
