Arts Connexions Presents “Water Ceremony”
Join us for the second performance in the Arts Connexions series, “Water Ceremony,” featuring Carl DuPont, baritone, Thursday, June 22, 2023, 7:30 P.M., at Theater@Innovation Square, 131 Chestnut Street in Rochester. Performer/curator, Dr. Carl DuPont, has created a multi-cultural celebration entitled “Water Ceremony,” featuring Asian, Hispanic, Persian, and African-American vocal and instrumental music. Tenor Pablo Willey-Bustos and soprano Joanna Kim join Mr Dupont as vocal soloists. Sohrab Jaferian performs Persian water ceremony music on the traditional kamancheh. Pianist Sarah Rhee-Tirre accompanies and offers solo selections. Audience and performers are invited to offer samples of water that reflect their own heritage and culture.
