‘A CITY SINGS FOR THE SEASON’ AT STARDUST BALLROOM
(Rochester, NY – 3 August 2017) Rochester’s historic Stardust Ballroom resounds this December with “A CITY SINGS FOR THE SEASON,” the fourth annual community holiday celebration of music and dance presented by the Rochester Oratorio Society, Sunday, December 3, 2017, 3:00 P.M., in the Stardust Ballroom, 41 Backus Street, at the Edgerton Recreation Center in Rochester. Admission is free of charge. Donations of food items, cash and personal care items accepted at the door benefit ACTION FOR A BETTER COMMUNITY.
Performing this year are the Hochstein Youth Singers, Maryellen Giese, Director; the University of Rochester Gospel Chorus, Thomas Green, Director; ROCMusic Collaborative, Alexander Peña, Director and Lead Teaching Artist; and Borinquen Dance Theatre, Nydia Padilla-Rodriguez, Founding Artistic Director. The Rochester Oratorio Society chorus and its touring small ensemble, RESONANZ, perform under Artistic Director Eric Townell.
The City of Rochester co-sponsors the event, and the Hochstein School of Music and Dance, Canandaigua National Bank and Nocon & Associates, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., are major sponsors.
The Rochester Oratorio Society, the region’s premier large mixed chorus for adults, presents 4-6 performances annually and presents the Rochester International Vocal Competition each spring.
