ROS’s glorious, rich sonority is showcased in this program of great choral works by Aaron Copland, R. Nathaniel Dett, Randall Thompson, Jean Ford, and Norman Dello Joio with keyboard accompaniment. Opera choruses, psalms, spirituals, and a jubilant Walt Whitman setting written in the year and month of ROS’s founding, make for an unforgettable evening of music.

Be there for the NY premiere of “We Are On Native Land,” music by Brent Michael Davids, Mohegan, and lyrics by Trish Corcoran, Tonawanda Onondowaga, as well as the opportunity to visit with representatives of Native American Community Services prior to the concert. Local collaborators include Kae Wilbert, Cherokee, and Cheri Trimble, Upper Mohawk, Turtle Clan.

This program is made possible in part by the Farash Foundation and Monroe County.

This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of The Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.
