“THROWBACK TO THE 70’S” WITH ORATORIO SOCIETY
The decade of bell bottoms, leisure suits and Harvey Wallbangers reigns again as the Rochester Oratorio Society [ROS] celebrates its 70th anniversary season with “Throwback to the 70’s” benefit event on Thursday, November 12, 7:00 P.M at ARTISANworks 565 Blossom Road in Rochester. Tickets ($19.70) are available here.
The ROS invites all to enjoy premium wines and beers, entertainment, dancing, and the opportunity to view and purchase splendid artworks and to bid on Albert Paley collectibles and entertainment packages. Prizes will be awarded for Best 70’s-era Apparel.
“We’re going to party in the spirit of the decade, with all its colorful appeal,” says event organizer Beth Camann, noting that many who attend will be too young to have experienced the era personally. “The point is to have great fun with friends and benefit a great cause.”
Proceeds support the Society’s new partnership with the Horizons Student Enrichment Program at The Harley School, providing choral education and performance experience to urban students during an intensive six-week session. Music education is widely recognized as a factor in students’ continuing academic success and development.
