ROS Presents “A City Sings for the Season” Holiday Concert

The Rochester Oratorio Society will present its fifth annual holiday celebration of music and dance, A City Sings for the Season, at the Stardust Ballroom, 41 Backus St., on Nov. 24 at 3:00 p.m.

The Rochester Oratorio Society chorus and its small touring ensemble Resonanz, led by Artistic Director Maestro Eric Townell will perform works by Bruckner and Handel, including a preview of the group’s performance of Messiah with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in December. “It truly is the most joyful afternoon of the year,” said Townell. “We look forward to this collaboration each year.”

The Oratorio Society will be joined by The Hochstein Youth Singers, led by Maryellen Giese, Director. This family-friendly performance is free of charge and is co-sponsored by the City of Rochester. The event is also sponsored in part by Nocon & Associates, Canandaigua National Bank and Henderson Family Ford Foundation. Donations of personal care items, food or clothing will be collected for the benefit of Action for a Better Community.
